There are a few beauty products that I’ve purchased recently that I’ve found really disappointing. Whether it’s just not doing what it says on the tin or not living up to the hype they’re not something I’d recommend to others…

Kerastase

This was supposed to be the go to product for fine hair. I thought this was going to be the answer to all my prayers, the product to curb my fly aways and keep my hair from getting too greasy without weighing it down. Safe to say that my fly aways have actually got worse – nightmare! It did make my hair lighter but I was washing it daily to keep it from looking too slick. Despite the fact it was rather expensive (for shampoo anyway) I don’t think I’ll continue to use it, it causes more problems than it solves. For all those with fine hair I’d advise to steer clear.

Andalou All In One Beauty Balm

Because I don’t like foundation I usually opt for a tinted moisturiser then matte it out with loose powder. For a moisturiser this actually made my skin drier which I was really shocked by. However I love the sheer coverage that it gives so I have decided to keep using this on top of my favourite moisturiser and under my powder (plus it’s £13 a tube and I don’t want to waste it). I definitely think it helps that I’m addicted to the smell and it has 30 SPF which is great for summer.

Mitchum Antiperspirant

Due to my anxiety I tend to sweat quite a bit. When summer rolls round it gets worse with the hot weather, so I decided to invest in a stronger deodorant/antiperspirant. Mitchum is supposed to be an ultra powerful sweat and odour controller; I have to say it always controls smell but I’ve still been struggling with it. This may be due to my anxiety rather than the product itself but it still left me wanting more from it.

What products have you tried recently that you’ve been less than impressed with?
