My Beauty Uses For Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has always been the magic plant in our house (despite never having an actual plant). Everyone knows it’s great for cooling burns or helping alleviate sunburn after falling asleep on the beach, but because of its natural protective properties it’s the perfect beauty product too.

I have very sensitive skin, so for the longest time I tried to avoid putting anything on it that didn’t have to be there. It easily dried out and got super dry patches but then had a super oily t-zone and all combination skin products I used made at least one area worse. Then while on holiday (all the best things happen on holiday) I used aloe vera on my face to help ease a little redness from the sun and I’ve never looked back. So here are my favourite beauty uses for aloe vera…

For me 100% aloe gel is the perfect moisturizer. Light and fresh with a cooling, soothing property that helps fight the redness my face is prone to it’s exactly what I need in the morning. I do need to use a primer before I apply my foundation if I don’t have time to let it dry but it’s a price I’m willing to pay.

Spot Zapper

If like me you’re prone to break outs aloe should be your new best friend. Pop a little over the affected area before you go to bed and wake up to a much reduced spot with no redness or nothing at all! Plus it saves time and money choosing the right spot products in the beauty isle.

Eye Make Up Remover

Saying I have sensitive eyes is an understatement. The slightest gust of wind or unexpected sunlight has my eyes streaming and squinting for their life. So when it comes to eye make up removal I need to be pretty careful or I end up with big red puffy eyes. Aloe once again to the rescue. I pop a pee sized drop onto my finger and massage over my eye, leave it to sink in for a minutes then wipe away all traces of make up with a cotton pad.

Do you use aloe in your beauty regime? Let me know in the comments the different ways you’ve tried it.
